Blog on hold

The Internet in Cuba has been tedious and coupled with the long days we have, I've decided to hold posting until I get home.

Suffice to say this is an amazing country in the midst of transition - incredibly interesting, dynamic and with delightful people!  We have had wonderful experiences so far, eating great food, listening to fun music, shot MANY photos and are learning a lot about the history, culture, challenges and potential of Cuba.  I can't wait to share these great experiences with you!

Stay tuned!

We Have Arrived!

Yep,, the cars are amazing!  They were the first thing We noticed when we arrived. Many are lovingly cared for and it's great to see these "blasts from the past."

After settling into the hotel - which is on the beach outside of Old Havana, we were treated to a welcome dinner complete with mohitas, and after dinner rum and cigars.

Facing our rooom with ocean and pool.  With our schedule, I don't think we'll spend too much time here!

I'm finding that internet access is more chalenging than I expected.  Working it out - will continue to send pics!

Global Shapers In Cuba April 22-May 1, 2016

Global Shapers from San Francisco led by Meghan Stevenson-Kraus will be visiting entrepreneurs in Cuba from April 22-May1.

“We are becoming increasingly aware that solutions to our global challenges must purposefully engage youth, at all levels – locally, regionally, nationally and globally. This generation has the passion, dynamism and entrepreneurial spirit to shape the future.”
Professor Klaus Schwab
World Economic Forum Founder and Executive Chairman

The Global Shapers Community is a network of city-based Hubs developed and led by young leaders between 20 and 30 years old who want to develop their leadership potential towards serving society. To that end, Hubs undertake local projects to improve their communities.
Shapers are highly motivated individuals who have a great potential for future leadership roles in society. They are selected on the basis of their achievements, leadership potential, and commitment to make a difference. Through the Global Shapers Community, Shapers are provided with opportunities to connect with the worldwide network of Global Shapers, to network with other World Economic Forum communities, and to represent the voice of youth at World Economic Forum events. Shapers are united by a common desire to channel the members’ tremendous energy and enthusiasm into building a more peaceful and inclusive world.
